Program Description

Admission Requirements

Basic requirements:

  • Completion of General Education Coursework - 55-58 credits Or AS, AA, BS, or BA degree which must include the following (courses listed are Normandale Community College course numbers):
  • English competency (English 1101-Grade of B or above)
  • English 1160
  • Math competency (Math 1050)
  • Math 1060
  • Art 1101
  • Communications 1101 (grade of B or above)
  • Biology 1102 OR Biology 1007
  • Physics 1050
  • Geography 1125
  • Education 1101
  • History 1111 OR 1112

  • Health 1106
    Students need to have most, if not all of the above courses completed or in progress at the time of application

Completion of Praxis 1:

  • Pre-professional Skills Test (PPST)
  •  Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA

Professional Requirements:

Completed Portfolio and Biographical Information form accompanied by current transcript. Recommended that most prerequisite requirements be completed prior to admission.

Non-traditional students and students from under-represented groups are encouraged to apply.
