 Facilitator: Ashley Strom

Ashley is one of the newest members of the Student Activities team at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Born and raised in Moorhead, MN, she moved to St. Cloud, MN in 2001 and began working toward an undergraduate degree in Communication Studies. Following graduation in the spring of 2006, she traveled to South Korea to teach English at a private school for grades K – 6. During this time, she took advantage of holiday breaks and made additional excursions to China and Thailand. After traveling to Korea, Ashley spent time working in the private sector for C.H. Robinson Worldwide, where she gained knowledge and experience in the transportation and logistics field. Two years later however, Ashley decided to follow her true passion and began her graduate work in College Counseling and Student Development at St. Cloud State University. During her studies, she worked as a graduate assistant for The Division of General Studies, a first year experience program for youth who begin their college careers needing a little extra guidance academically. As a graduate assistant, she advised students on course schedules, adjustment to college life issues, and taught sections of the Discovering College course.  Ashley is passionate about people and learning their stories; she has an affinity for learning, and will likely be one of the more inquisitive people you will meet.
